Hi Sweets! Recently I pulled off a major surprise for my Husband, Ryan.
I was so excited because everything went according to plan.
Let me begin with a brief backstory...
November 2017, Ryan and I attended a March Of Dimes Charity event. It was a number of celebrity chefs auctioning off some type of intimate culinary experience,
'Signature Chefs Auction.' For one of the bids our favored Chef Tom Ramsey auctioned off a Pasta Making Session for four. We won the bid. Life happened fast forward to present, we never redeemed our win. Thanks to SM/IG I reached out to Chef Ramsey presenting the idea of coming to New Orleans for this experience as a surprise for my husbands birthday.
Gratefully he welcomed the idea!
After going back & forth between all parties involved Sunday Oct 20th was the planned surprise date... As I write this post I'm thinking about how seemingly everything went :)
My alibi was my sister Victoria @jesjuicy.
Of course she would have arrangements already in place to be in New Orleans that same Sunday. With this as a front, I tell Ryan that 'we' (sister and I) were invited to New Orleans Fashion Week, which made for the perfect cover!
Ryan, "What exactly are you going to be doing?"
Me, "I'm going to be interviewed for NOFW. I want you to capture the moments. But before the interview I want to shoot some content in the city."
Ryan, "Ok cool. Let me get my gear together and ready."
The day of the trip, we met my sister Victoria to catch a ride to New Orleans with her and a friend. I live in Jackson Ms, so the ride was only two and a half hours. Like I mentioned, it was my luck she was scheduled to be there the same day and time we needed to be. Once we arrived, we dropped Victoria off at her event and proceeded in the direction for my 'interview' but first we pulled over for Ryan to shoot and create the photos for this content. Immediately after we headed it to our 'destination.' Upon arrival Ryan started to inquire a bit more concerned of the location but I assured him we were where we needed to be...We attempted to open the front door and it was locked. Seconds later a young lady appears from the side asking, "Are you Lafayette?" I replied yes! She directed us to follow her. We entered the kitchen of the restaurant and out appears Chef Tom Ramsey! Surprise! Ryan face was lit red, literally. He was so excited and over joyed by it all! We learned how to make Basil Chicken Pasta from scratch! Needless to say the surprise was an incredible success! I was extremely happy with how everything turned out. Even more special I actually pulled off surprising Ryan because he is often the one surprising me!

What I wore
For the occasion, I had to keep it 'fashion forward' since I was there for 'NOFW' and didn't want to raise Ryan's eyebrows. I decided to keep it fun, flirty, and funky wearing this printed volume miniskirt (old) with this printed vintage blouse from Love's Lost Phoenix Boutique
I got a lot of inquires about these white booties; So comfy and chic. They have the perfect heel height, I can wear them all day and night. I definitely will be wearing them throughout the fall/winter season. I love them!
I have them linked for you right here! or Click on image below
