Lilli had been talking about going back to the beach ever since we ventured the MS Gulf Coast last fall. Just as soon as the opportunity presented itself and our schedules allowed, we took our first family road trip to Florida's east coast. Among all of our stops, Playalinda Beach was the most serene and pristine. Read more how this isolated beach became the family favorite.
For those that live in Jackson, there are many beaches with driving distance. The MS Gulf Coast, Orange Beach, AL and Pensacola Beach, FL are great and the drive won’t wear you out.
But, if you can travel, you’ll find serenity and beauty just like we did in Florida and it’s eastern coast.
Staying in Orlando, Playalinda Beach was shortly under an hour from our accommodations. Online it read 'well' and didn't seem too populated. We packed up our lounge necessities and headed to the beach!
Nestled on the Canaveral National Seashore, Playalinda Beach is in one of America's national parks. It’s known for its premier rocket launch viewing. Once inside, you have 13 lots to choose for parking and beach entry. We picked #7. Upon arrival we noticed how scarce the shoreline was (in regards to other beach goers). This was totally OK, and we were fine with it being just us.
Because this beach is in a state park, there was no commercial presence for miles away. We appreciated the peaceful environment, and the untouched views.
It was a windy day, we could hear the waves crashing strongly against the shore... The beachscape was beautiful: no seaweed, sticks or rocks at our feet. Only pristine sand between our hands and toes.
We were anxious to see how Olivia would react to the touch of sand. No surprise to us, of course she loved it, just as Big Sister did.
Both of the girls had a blast on this beach. Lilli has proven to be a true beach babe, she would've played in the sand all day if she could. All of us could've stayed on this beach all day. Ryan possibly could've got a tan if only he had stay out of the water long enough lol.

If you’re looking for a laid back calm beach day for the family, consider traveling to Florida's east coast with your beach essentials in tow. Its worth the drive, you won't regret it.
