On April 25th, 2018 I married my best friend...it was one of the most magical moments of my life! I realize why anniversaries are special. Its the perfect opportunity to reflect on that special time with that special someone. we first met...5 years ago April 25th at the Hilton Bar on a Friday night. How cliche' right? I had finished working a fashion event and wanted to grab something to eat. I invited one of my best friends to meet me. She wasn't interested in eating but didn't mind accompanying me. When I arrived, there was an empty seat next to her and on the other side of the seat sat my now husband, Ryan bka 'Sweetface'. He had finished working late and was waiting on a colleague to meet him for a drink. I sat in the empty seat and we casually became acquainted. He was new in the area and wanted to know 'things to do' and asked if we could keep in touch. I politely gave him my card. He contacted me 2 weeks later and that officially began our platonic friendship. Our relationship...4 years ago, we became a couple. It pretty much happened organically being that we were true friends first. He has a passion for photography, his work primarily focused on weddings and capturing scenic shots. Then I came along and somehow became his muse lol...we make a great team across the board. We enjoy learning new things, entertaining our family & friends (We hosted our first family Christmas last season, huge success!), and of course traveling. One word I would use to describe our relationship is "easy." Which he plays a major role in that simply b/c I use to get all worked up when things didn't go according to plan and Ryan would somehow put me at ease with his favorite saying, 'just go with the flow babe'. He is my rock, my everything. Our special day...We didn't have an ideal date when we got engaged. But soon after, we talked about it and decided to get married on the date day (April 25th) we met in the upcoming year (2018)! We had an intimate garden ceremony at the private home of my relative. The weather was pleasant, the day was beautiful. My dress arrived and I could actually fit it. My crown and bouquet were custom made for me by my great friend Jasmine. Everything was perfect, literally. Ryan decided to give me a sweet surprise. When I hear Beyonce song 'HALO' I always think of him...I wanted to walk out to him with the instrumental string version playing on speakers . Well not only did I walk out on 'HALO' but Ryan booked a string trio as my wedding day surprise! I was so overwhelmed with emotions, I couldn't believe it... We wrote our own vows. Ryan jokingly made known he would be the cook lol. He also vowed to forever be my calm & solidarity and to always love and support me as we build our life together. I vowed to forever be grateful & dedicated to him. I also vowed to forever be his queen, his partner for life... The kasparsA year later, we are happily in love with each other in addition to our sweet baby girl 'Lilli' (Lillian Lafayette). Some might describe our life as a fairy-tale come true. Its far from the case, I prayed for what I have and continue to pray everyday for my loving husband and my healthy baby girl. I truly feel blessed. Per Ryan, "we are not perfect but we are perfect for each other." #foreverinlove

Hi Lafayette! I am SO HAPPY for you. You were such a beautiful bride too. I enjoyed reading your blog and my favorite part was reading how you pray for your husband. That’s exactly what we were created for as being the Rib from the man. The rib is stronger than the dust, so it is our responsibility to use that strength wisely and prayer is our best weapon of doing just that! My advice is always keep GOD FIRST and definitely keep HIM in your marriage. Such a beautiful couple! May GOD bless you all your days and keep you all safe. Love you!
